The Origin of Wilderness:
One September afternoon I was driving home from Dover, DE, where I had bought one of my roommates an early birthday present. The part of MD-213 I was driving along is several miles of nothing but cornfields and woods. I glanced at a grove of trees on my right and was struck by an idea for a story about a young man who lived a double life between his hometown and the woods behind his house. In the woods were different factions of creatures with their own motives and agendas. The story would be a coming-of-age tale in which the young man would grow up facing challenges in both worlds.
As soon as I returned to my apartment, I began jotting down as many ideas as I could remember, and those notes eventually developed into Wilderness.
I have written several drafts of the story and am in the process of finding a literary agent.
